Our two-century-old company & the story behind its success.

As early as 1831, Thomas Grant Gore was involved in funerals. Funerals were especially complex in the early nineteenth century. From ducape scarves and gloves to truncheons and wands, providing mourning apparel for family members, coachmen, bearers and pages was part of our service. By the mid-nineteenth century, Thomas Gore and Job Gore had formed our family company, then known as Gore Brothers. At this time, we were funeral furnishers; supplying general goods and apparel to smaller funeral companies in the local area.

With almost two centuries of experience, Gore Brothers Ltd has an excellent and trusted reputation in the communities we serve. Our family company is run by four partners: Philip Gore, Michael Gore, Kevin Nicholson, and Alex Gore.

As independent, family-run funeral directors, we are committed to providing a compassionate, supportive and personal service to all who step through our doors. Assisted by a dedicated workforce, Gore Brothers Ltd operates across six offices and maintains a stunning fleet of Mercedes and classic Daimlers.

Remembering Tom Gore

Having served local families since 1933, Tom was always able to draw from his wealth of experience to offer invaluable advice and support. It is with fond remembrance, therefore, that we remember his passing, at the age of 99, on 28th May 2015. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
